It's amazing how many of London's businesses, including restaurants and bars, were shut by the time I headed for home. The evening economy was not in full swing.
That said, those pubs that were open were doing a roaring trade.
I went to meet James for dinner near Liverpool Street because DB wouldn't let any of them leave the building all day and he was starving. We had a hell of a time finding a restaurant open, not only because a lot of places were shut but also the proximity to one of the bomb sites. I found it a bit eerie walking through the desserted streets. It was such a stark contrast to the lively post-work, end of the week socialising you usually see in that part of the City.
