Le Web 3: Going Global with NetVibes

So, what's behind the success of NetVibes? Openness says Tariq Krim of NetVibes. They let local customise the site locally for them. It's an open architecture so people can build their own modules for it.

This openness, and harnessing the power of the community, allows them to expand much faster.

A short presentation, and not great delivery, but some very interesting ideas. I must play with NetVibes more. I know that Piers is a great fan.

Netvibes is just a story between friends&co-investors (Pierre Chapaz-Loic Le Meur-Ouriel Ohayon of Techcrunch). That's it. They refuse to mention any other direct competitor of Netvibes such as the European PageFlakes.com for example.

Well, it's sorta inevitable that sponsors will get a "plug spot". That's how these things work. Lucky that there's blogs and comments where alternatives can be mentioned.

As I said before (or was it later?), it's all a bit matey around here, a self-satisfaction fest. Luckily we can ignore the stuff on stage for the stuff off stage.

ahh, well welcome to france. Everything's very matey around here in any business situation. Always the same people who went to the same schools...etc.
