Le Web 3: What should Le Web 4 Look Like?

Y'know, I'm not a great fan of relentless criticism.

It's obvious that there are a lot of people who were unhappy about what happened at Le Web 3. But, by now, most people have already expressed what they though about it and what made them happy. And, until Loïc recovers enough to post, I'm not sure there's huge amount extra to add.

Now, how about we turn that on its head, and start saying what they'd like to see in a Le Web 4 (or equivalent) conference. And I do mean “conference” here, rather than unconference. I think there's room for both a good unconference and a good conference in Europe.

So, post what you'd like to see at a theoretical Le Web 4, and tag your posts leweb4beta.

And let's see if the blogosphere can do creativity as well as criticism.

In general I think that is a good idea - I just would not tag it that way.

This name in its varieties is connected to this conference - and the next good conference can be something totally else.

Orientations to look at are already DLD, Lift and Reboot of course.

Ok - what would be a good tag, then?

I don't think that the tag is that bad. It might just be that some of those who get a bit of a too personal point of view on it do not want Le Web to be continued.

IMHO things just turned out after the (un)conference to be not only a question of objective criticism but as well an issue concerning power. Well what in this world is not about power?! For me it does not have to be like this. They can bang for the next conference, every single one of them can do his own. Sad but true: We are living in an environment that prefers rivalry instead of mutual cooperation. What if Loic will agree having done a mistake?! He might want to excuse for it, but some of them won't listen any longer.

Just another thing: Politics seem to be not the topic of that Le Web, but there have been some attendees that wrote about this event as well who came to the point that the french election campaign has nothing to do with Le Web, but they were not at all against a broader perspective even regarding politics as an issue of Web 2.0. It's not all about "money", but start telling this to all the "professionals" out there. They're just sitting in their bubble and imagine it to be the world.
