Saved by Starbucks

Image(328) The problem with having a job where you help other people blog, is that is leaves you too little time to blog yourself...

However. I'm enjoying a quiet little catch-up with my RSS feeds in a Starbucks located, in a slightly sinister manner, just off the A3 in the middle of nowhere.

It's been almost literally a life-saver, though, as I was dangerously close to nodding off at the wheel while on the drive back to London.

However, now that I'm well-caffeinated and my blog addiction is fed, I can set off for sunny Lewisham with a somewhat larger chance of making it home alive...

I rarely used Starbucks as a coffee consumer (I generally do not like the quantity of milk they insist on adding and you should see the look you get if you ask them NOT to fill the cup) but I always "knew" they had WiFi

I was very surprised, when I finally invested in a laptop, that you have to PAY for access. Most places offer their customers free WiFi these days, and I'm pretty sure that is the case in Starbucks in the US too, so this is looking increasingly archaic, don't you think?

As for saving your life, you are talking to someone who did fall asleep at the wheel once before and survived thanks to a combination of rumble strips and a lorry driver with the sense to give me space. Needless to say I lived to tell the tale, but I still hate long distance driving. 20 minute power naps make all the difference!
