Paris is in there in my top (bottom?) four meals of all time.
Paris: Chinese meal, served in refrigerated restaurant with the atmos of a Party meeting in Beijing when they'd been forced to put rice on the ration.
Edinburgh (badly fried oily fish in oatmeal, plain boiled spuds, plain boiled neaps and a pint of heavy).
Small town in Southern Poland (too much vodka hard to remember where exactly) but food grim (raw meat, raw onions, raw eggs).
Yorkshire Dales (Jugged hare so high it was falsetto.)
But those had the redeeming (?) feature of there being a lot of it. Dead Fish on Sticks, they were not. So I can sympathise. It's one of the rigours of the job, chin up, old chap, chin up.
