On "Online" Blogs

Print subs, print journalists and print editors: I have a plea for you.

I know many of you don’t like technology, and assume that your readers don’t, too. But really, using the phrase “online blog” just makes you look stupid. How many offline blogs have you come across?  *Exactly*.
So, either the word “online” is completely redundant, and should be virtuously struck down by any competant sub, or it’s masquerading as an explanation of “blog” – but how much useful information does it actually give? Virtually none.
Either explain the damn word, or omit the “online”. Doing what you’re doing right now gives the impression of you (metaphorically) holding the word at arm’s length, like it carries a bad smell. The medium is over a decade old now. I think we can move on from that.
I may have blogged about this before. But it still annoys me.
