BBC not pre-empting, possibly

In response to the story mentioned earlier, the BBC have issued one of those not-denials that try to invalidate a news story without denying it. Make what you will of it:

I seem to remember Sandi Toksvig (sp?) mentioning that all stories used to have to be backed by two sources before consideration by any journo.

They should be more worried about the dumbing down of the language with terms like "sexed up"

Newsreaders using the phrase "gotta" and pronouncing Sunday as Sundee.

I'm far from expert on the Queens English, but if I can't rely on the Beeb.... (sigh)
