I note that many vloggers concentrate too much on the video and ignore the importance of good sound, ideally with a clip-on lapel mike. You can shoot mediocre video and great sound and get away with it. But great video and mediocre doesn't work.

In all honesty, I see the opposite problem more - journalists' natural inclination is to go for expensive systems with separate sound and the works, and then take so long to produce any video it gets virtually no views.
Striking the balance between portability, speed and quality seems to be the thing.
